Lawn Renovations

Is your lawn 'spongey' or have you noticed that water struggles to be absorbed and just 'pools' or runs off?

If you have notice any or both of these then your lawn may have too much 'dead leaf' matter under the green leaf canopy known as 'rubbish' and 'thatch'. Zoysia lawns suffer from excess thatch the most.

A 'lawn renovation' is the multi step process that;

(a) reduces the height of your lawn (height reducing/scalping);

(b) removal of 'rubbish' and/or thatch (dethatch/scarifying);

(c) core aeration;

(d) top dressing (optional).

A lawn with excess 'rubbish' or thatch discourages deep root development and growth into the soil and rather encourages roots to develop in the thatch layer which will results in your lawn requiring more water as the thatch layer dries out quickly.

If you have a buffalo lawn extreme caution is required as incorrect use of machinery during a a lawn renovation can easily result in your lawn being 'removed' and therefore dying.

Not only will a lawn renovation improve the overall health of your lawn it will reduce the need for excessive watering and fertilising.

Before commencing a lawn renovation it is recommended to seek advice from an experienced lawn contractor with extensive lawn renovation experience.
